If you're new to GNU/Linux in general, I would highly recommend using precompiled packages. Follow the instructions here: www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu
On a side note, if you want help for such problems, asking in the comments of an appDB page on wineHQ is a bad idea. I would recommend using the forums of your distribution (in the case of Ubuntu, I believe that would be ubuntuforums.org/ .
