RE: Text is in Korean
by Andy on Saturday September 26th 2009, 11:29
No, I didn't download anything. I bought the game at Gamestop. I installed it on my Windows partition. I ran the patcher and it updated to the current version. I ran the game in Windows and it was in English. I copied and pasted the entire Aion folder onto my Linux partition. I ran the game using "wine bin32/aion.bin -ip:206.127.153.247 -port:2106 -cc:2 -lang:enu -noauthgg -noweb". I also tried every variation listed by other posters here (different ip, just -noauthgg, just -noweb, etc.) and I always get the same result: the text labels on all the buttons are in Korean. I tried installing the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package. I tried copying and pasting the entire contents of my Windows partition fonts folder into my .wine folder. I tried completely removing the game (including searching the registry and removing any entries missed by the uninstaller) and reinstalling it. I tried using different versions of Wine (I found that 1.1.24 is actually more stable, I can switch compiz desktops without crashing the game like 1.1.29 does) but it doesn't fix the language problem. I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this. There must be other people having the same problem.
