Error 1024 is caused by incorrect language versions.
Generally speaking NCSoft's patcher patches game's version AND language version. Patcher posted below patches only game (one patch at the time) and doesn't update language version. I'll post my own launcher later this week (kde only though) which can install/patch game at one go (no need to run multiple times) and displays progress bar.
