Did Demigod ever start and did you change to another resolution ingame? That might be the cause. Try deleting the config file in "My Documents/My games/Demigod" (I think this is the correct path). Wine default is to make "My Documents" point to your own home directory, so there should be a new directory called "My Games" in there.
If the game never ran, check if you made an error while fiddling with regedit. Also, vertex shaders need to be enabled in winecfg.
