not sure what it does. i believe it works around an ati driver bug, but one more thing, dont turn your Catalyst AI to advanced, otherwise when you go into Create-a-sim, your sim is an unshaded mess (looks completely dark with oddly-colored spots, or may come up scrambled.) if i remember correctly, i had to turn Catalyst AI off during this game.
