Hey Stanislaw,
Installing dplay wasn't enough for me for Patch #3. It was for Patch #2. Patch #3 enabled the graying out of the menus. I think that the graying out part is broken, but I haven't checked or tried to fix it. Recompiling with IPX did work for me. But only on Ubuntu 10.04 and not 11.10 (could be something else though as it was a different machine). I know that Patch #2 and #3 work with dplay in Win7. So maybe you could find the answer there.
