XSplit is an application that streams live audio and video from your computer to online stream hosting sites like ustream.tv, justin.tv and livestream.com. The source can be a connected capture device, a webcam, or simply a feed of your desktop. It encodes the video on the fly, and is commonly used to broadcast gameplay for the amusement of others. Saving a local copy of the stream to your harddrive is also possible.
