Star Wars T.I.E. Fighter Collector's CD-ROM is a spaceflight combat simulator developed by Totally Games and published by Lucasarts which takes place in the Star Wars universe. ; It is the sequel of X-Wing, and includes both T.I.E. Fighter and the Defender of the Empire expansion pack. The original T.I.E. Fighter game improved on X-Wing by including gouraud shading and 640x480 resolution, and the Collector's CD-ROM supports hardware 3D acceleration.
While the original X-Wing allowed one to fly the X-Wing, A-Wing, and Y-Wing (and the B-Wing with the B-Wing add-on), T.I.E. Fighter allows you to fly the T.I.E. Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, and Missile Gunboat, as well as the Advanced T.I.E. Fighter, and the T.I.E. Defender.
The manual is enjoyable to read as it traces the tale of Maarek Stele, a young pilot who recently joined the Imperial Navy, and his struggles and decisions.
