hi
by Frost on Saturday November 21st 2009, 5:10
That happened to me also in Wine 1.1.33. The graphics where complete messed up, but then i downgrade Wine to 1.0.1 (stable version) and thanks to that Shaiya works. All button was there at login screen and graphics wasnt messed up anymore.
So try to downgrade your Wine version to 1.0.1 and Shaiya should work normal. It doesnt seem to run very well on 1.1.33.
UI elements missing.
by Joshua M. Murphy on Saturday November 7th 2009, 22:41
I'm seeing an extreme case of this, where no player models draw and most UI frames and buttons are missing, though the game appears to run flawlessly otherwise. For every object that's missing, though, I get this:
fixme:d3d_draw:drawStridedFast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDrawElements @ drawprim.c / 49
GameGuard has been removed
by Jari Winberg on Saturday November 7th 2009, 13:46
Now that GameGuard has been removed from Shaiya, the game starts okay but most of the GUI elements are messed up. Some buttons are invisible but functional. Windows (map for example) disappear from sight, they will become visible again if some other element is activated.

Graphical Issues
by Tobias on Thursday July 30th 2009, 17:45
Hi Folks,
I installed Shaiya today and tried all day getting it work. I'm able to start the game and login but when I'm ingame everything is wrecked up with big grey fields. I don't see my char and parts of the landscape.
Even an update to latest wine version didn't help.
I have an Acer Extensa 5220, Ubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.26

But, when I get it downloaded or w/e it goes to a windows install shield within wine to configure shaiya for install or something.. The bar loads all the way till there is only one notch left to fill and stops there. Please what can I do to get shaiya installed! =[

Any *new* or existing problems? Post here please. :)
by Sam Tarling on Friday June 5th 2009, 10:52
Could anyone with a current problem with the new release, or any release reply to this please. That way, we can sort out your problems!
Please remember to include; Your wine version, A (quite) detailed "whats wrong" and any other comments you would like to give us. Sometimes its a good idea to say if you used things like winetricks or wine-doors.
Shaiya on Jaunty
by Xenofex on Wednesday May 6th 2009, 23:53
I just installed Shaiya on Jaunty and updated it fully. I ran the crackmeup program and tried to run the game. GameGuard didn't show up, but the game didn't either. When I tried to run it again it said it was already in process. Updater works fine, I've installed the extra DLLs and I've set my windows version to 95. My wine version is 1.1.20.
Can someone help me?
My windows was destroyed by a worm and I didn't have the money to buy a new one so I installed Ubuntu 9.04 . I also installed Wine so I can try to use some of the same things but I can not get Shaiya to work and the things I see here do not work. I'm new to Linux/Ubuntu and don't know how things work fully yet.
Can someone post step by step instructions on how to make Shaiya work?
I did just downgrade Wine to 1.1.5 and Shaiya works perfect now.
As someone here said versions above 1.1.5 makes the game to crash when
talking to NPCs so run 1.1.5 and it should not be any problems.
Hello
by Frost on Sunday February 22nd 2009, 14:41
I downloaded the crack script posted by "Jareel" from www.megaupload.com/?d=UAVKIP5E and i did like this:
Open it, and then i go to x64 folder and took "crackmeup" and put it in my Shaiya folder from here it went very well. Shiaya runs as it should but when i try to talk to an NPC to get or turn in a quest the game shuts off it self and logs out.
Does NPC talk just work on Wine 1.0.1 versions or??
Shaiya GameGuard Remover: Perl script
by Qtax on Saturday February 7th 2009, 12:45
I didn't have a C compiler on my Win XP box so I wrote a Perl script to do the patching. Based on comments in this thread. Basically ported that C code to Perl. I thought I'd put it up here too. :)
Just a few tips:
by Michael on Friday February 6th 2009, 15:03
**First of all, remember to use the DLL files always as stated above.
**Second, under wine config, make sure to set the version to windows 95, the other operating system emulations cause errors.
**Third, You can turn all graphical options up to the max and it will run still smoothly, the only graphical glitch I get is when I turn on water reflection.
**And finally, As far as I have tested, all wine versions above 1.1.5 have an issue when talking to NPC's so I would reccomend for now remaining in this version until it is fixed.

game guard is the real problem here?
by theo on Saturday December 13th 2008, 13:42
I mean there's a bunch of game guards games that works on wine, so the problem definely isn't the guame guard itself, silkroad runs on gameguard and it's the most perfect mmorpg working on wine ever!

got it, but
by Yuko on Sunday November 9th 2008, 8:11
I solved the problem. The problem was that I overwrote the game.exe with another game.exe before, which caused the problem. Luckily I saved the old one before, so I re-overwrote it and then used the "crackmeup". Now that works, but it lags really badly. What can I do about that?

Client version doesn't match
by Yuko on Sunday November 9th 2008, 7:40
Hi,
I have downloaded the script Jareel posted here and I have compiled the build to get the crackmeup ... but when I doubleclick the crackmeup nothing seems to happen, at least I do not see anything, and the problem that it always says "The client version doesn't match" remains. I've looked in the crackmeup.c, there the changes bobo told us about were made, so that cannot be the problem. So what should I do to get the crackmeup running? I do not know the command in the console to "execute" something. Just typing "crackmeup" gives me an error-message.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advantage.
wine regression
by tokujin on Wednesday November 5th 2008, 2:49
The latest versions of wine 1.1.7 and wine 1.1.6 have a problem that exists in the game with using the gatekeepers (game crashes) and quests. Those are the only actions it seems to crash from. Using an earlier version remedies the problem.
Wine 1.1.5 is recommended until a workaround is found. Must bypass gameguard and make sure the updater does not load so use a cracked version.
Crack script (Permanent)
by Jareel on Sunday October 26th 2008, 13:31
This is a script my brother made to crack Shaiya (override GameGuard), for virtually all further versions. Just place the pre-compiled script, or the one you compile from the source code included, in the Shaiya directory with game.exe in it. Run the script after every time there is a patch for Shaiya. Note that it will overwrite game.exe in this directory without prompting.
Alright, a small bug?
by Michael on Saturday October 25th 2008, 11:37
I'm a brand new linux user...not that it matters, i got Ubuntu dual booting on my MacbookPro and its working great.
So i got wine and installed Shaiya and it worked nicely, i can play the game and everything...just one thing: When i try to finish a quest it crashes...like every time....is there a way to fix that?
New GG crack after update.
by moguaii on Saturday October 25th 2008, 7:35
Hi,
After the update of today. I made a new crack for GAME.EXE (Thanks to Bobo ;D )
You have to make a copy of your one before replacement.
Call it "game.exe.bak" cause you must start the game with "game.exe" to do the crack working.
Modified from the Bobo crack (quote):
[
Disable game guard by modifying game.exe like described above. With the new patch the addresses have changed:
Byte at Offset 0x147E6E change from 0x01 to 0x00
Byte at Offset 0x1490E7 change from 0x62 to 0x55
Byte at Offset 0x1490E8 change from 0x02 to 0x07
Note: This game.exe might become obsolete come next version. If you find it is, please refer to replies to this post where there may be new download links for another cracked game.exe (provided by me or some very nice person) or possibly instructions to hexedit the latest game.exe.
Hacked game.exe may not work (anymore?)
by Jareel on Saturday October 18th 2008, 9:30
ShaiyaInstall121707.exe , Wine 1.1.5, Slackware 12.1 . The hacked game.exe Vianox submitted recently does allow you to bypass gameguard, but, when trying to join a server, a pop-up says "client version doesn't match!"
I've tried switching the game.exe's while things are loading/processing, but with no luck.
