Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works
task setup, flying (tow, winch and airborne tested), landing and Joystick

What does not

you will need to copy "d3dxof.dll", "dpnet.dll" and use this "native" one to see airplanes in task-menu. Also, this will make the game itself start... ("Cant load mesh from"-Dialog)

still sometimes mouse pointer will be invisible in menus until starting a new flight and exiting it. (No problem - buttons still highlighted on mouseover, just a little tricky)

Dedicated Server

On exit, "Wine System Tray" stays without showing a single object/pixel. Running Condor in virtual desktop gives you the ability to "hide" it...

Since Wine 1.1.11, "Exit flight" ( you have to take off first) makes the game crash (access violation)

What was not tested

more maps, all airplanes

connecting to windows host (dedicated server does not run)

Additional Comments

NVIDIA 8, running that good since wine 1.1.11

HOWTO install Condor and get dedicated server working (1.1.12)
  1. I suggest a clean WINEPREFIX for Condor, just use an "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine some.exe" instead of "wine some.exe"
  2. Installing:
    1. Now open up some Terminal/Shell/bash/whatsoever and cd to the directory the Condor-Setup is in. For example, if it is on your Desktop, type "cd ~/Desktop".
    2. Run Setup with wine: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine CondorSetup.exe".
    3. Follow the Instruction on the screen.
  3. Once you've got Condor installed, you have to set wine up:
    1. Copy "d3dxof.dll" and the Content of this archive to your system32 folder. Since you use a different WINEPREFIX, you'll find it here: "~/wine_condor/drive_c/windows/system32". Namely, you have to copy these 6 files: "d3dxof.dll", "dplaysvr.exe", "dplayx.dll", "dpnet.dll", "dpnhpast.dll" and "dpwsockx.dll"!
    2. Now open up "winecfg", remember your WINEPREFIX: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ winecfg":
      • I suggest using a virtual Desktop for this: Go to "graphics" tab, check the box, thats it!
      • Now go to "libraries", add "d3dxof.dll", "dplayx.dll", "dpnhpast.dll", "dpwsockx.dll" and "dpnet.dll". It should look like this: http://tinyurl.com/8tzeay
      • Click OK to confirm your changes.
      • Now you'll have to register dpnet. To do this, run: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor wine regsvr32 dpnet.dll". If this fails, please check library overrides again. If it still does not work, just ask here.
    3. Now you're ready to run Condor!
      1. cd to Condor folder: "cd ~/wine_condor/dri[TAB]/Pro[TAB]/Con[TAB]/" should do the Job. (full path would be: "cd ~/wine_condor/drive_c/Program\ Files/Condor/")
      2. Start Condor by typing: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine Condor.exe" or the dedicated server via "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine CondorDedicated.exe".
Of course you can create a simple bash-script or shortcut, just keep in mind to cd first!

HOWTO : Get NMEA-output working
  1. To connect a nmea-compatible device, first open up "system.reg" in your favorite editor. (Usually in "~/.wine/")
  2. Paste the following lines somewhere in the file, e.g. at the end:
    [HARDWARE\\DEVICEMAP\\SERIALCOMM] 1140289570
    "COM1"="COM1"
    "COM2"="COM2"
< Add more here if needed >
  3. Now close your editor and start "Condor.exe"
  4. In Options menu, check "Enable NMEA-output" and choose your COM-port. Connect your device to the serial port

by Pekka Rinne on Thursday November 25th 2010, 11:30
hi

Are you really able to play it? nvidia/ati?

For me really nothing works except main manu nor have I ever heard anyone really being able to play condor in wine. Some very old versions somehow worked but not reliably.

Does network play work?

CondorDedicated require a Condor launch
by Sebastien Chaumontet on Saturday February 28th 2009, 8:15
To run CondorDedicated.exe you need to launche at least one time Condor.exe.

No licence seems required to use CondorDedicated.

Have you managed to start condor in winedbg? Mine crashes at startup in "continue" command to "First chance exception: page fault".

Still no success with joystick
by Jyge on Wednesday December 3rd 2008, 12:13
Eveything else is ok but I am not getting my joystick to run with Condor. I have now just d3dox.dll and dpnet.dll overrides but no go. The setup screen won't go to edit input dialogue so I can not really assign anything...

Black screen ingame
by John Haywards on Friday September 26th 2008, 14:11
Hello,

Some said, they only see a black screen ingame! I only get this when setting resolution to more than 1152x768... (all windowed)
Does this work for you?

Also,
for using the POV there is a hack out there! Check:

"Workaround for hat switch"

At last I got a question:
Any workaround for flickering runways?
