Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Soaring simulation works perfectly out of the box. NVIDIA graphics card with latest NVIDIA driver installed. Used CH Products Flightstick Pro joystick ( bank, pitch, spoilers, hat, and assigned buttons to tow release, reset view, and landing gear ) and CH Products Pro Pedals ( rudder control ). Was able to reassign controls to joystick and pedals without any problem.
Ran Condor landscape settings on highest quality without any problems.
Added custom Condor landscape for Pyrenees and that worked without any problems either.
What does not
Initially the joystick and pedals didn't work in Condor, but that was a Ubuntu issue and not Wine problem. Tested the joystick and pedals outside of Wine from command line with "jstest /dev/input/js0" and got it to work there and then it worked fine within Wine/Condor.
What was not tested
I didn't test internet play at all or flight logger recording.
HOWTO install Condor and get dedicated server working (1.1.12)
I suggest a clean WINEPREFIX for Condor, just use an "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine some.exe" instead of "wine some.exe"
Installing:
Now open up some Terminal/Shell/bash/whatsoever and cd to the directory the Condor-Setup is in. For example, if it is on your Desktop, type "cd ~/Desktop".
Run Setup with wine: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine CondorSetup.exe".
Follow the Instruction on the screen.
Once you've got Condor installed, you have to set wine up:
Copy "d3dxof.dll" and the Content of this archive to your system32 folder. Since you use a different WINEPREFIX, you'll find it here: "~/wine_condor/drive_c/windows/system32". Namely, you have to copy these 6 files: "d3dxof.dll", "dplaysvr.exe", "dplayx.dll", "dpnet.dll", "dpnhpast.dll" and "dpwsockx.dll"!
Now open up "winecfg", remember your WINEPREFIX: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ winecfg":
I suggest using a virtual Desktop for this: Go to "graphics" tab, check the box, thats it!
Now go to "libraries", add "d3dxof.dll", "dplayx.dll", "dpnhpast.dll", "dpwsockx.dll" and "dpnet.dll". It should look like this: http://tinyurl.com/8tzeay
Click OK to confirm your changes.
Now you'll have to register dpnet. To do this, run: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor wine regsvr32 dpnet.dll". If this fails, please check library overrides again. If it still does not work, just ask here.
Now you're ready to run Condor!
cd to Condor folder: "cd ~/wine_condor/dri[TAB]/Pro[TAB]/Con[TAB]/" should do the Job. (full path would be: "cd ~/wine_condor/drive_c/Program\ Files/Condor/")
Start Condor by typing: "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine Condor.exe" or the dedicated server via "WINEPREFIX=~/wine_condor/ wine CondorDedicated.exe".
Of course you can create a simple bash-script or shortcut, just keep in mind to cd first!
HOWTO : Get NMEA-output working
To connect a nmea-compatible device, first open up "system.reg" in your favorite editor. (Usually in "~/.wine/")
Paste the following lines somewhere in the file, e.g. at the end:
[HARDWARE\\DEVICEMAP\\SERIALCOMM] 1140289570
"COM1"="COM1"
"COM2"="COM2"
< Add more here if needed >
Now close your editor and start "Condor.exe"
In Options menu, check "Enable NMEA-output" and choose your COM-port. Connect your device to the serial port

hi
Are you really able to play it? nvidia/ati?
For me really nothing works except main manu nor have I ever heard anyone really being able to play condor in wine. Some very old versions somehow worked but not reliably.

Still no success with joystick
by Jyge on Wednesday December 3rd 2008, 12:13
Eveything else is ok but I am not getting my joystick to run with Condor. I have now just d3dox.dll and dpnet.dll overrides but no go. The setup screen won't go to edit input dialogue so I can not really assign anything...

Does this work for you?
