The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
The game loads and the title screen shows up.
Joystick input seems to be working fine since 1.1.0.
It's possible to login (REGISTER USERID) and select START GAME. The game will pop-up the dialog saying "Please press ENTER-Key".
After the game connects to server, you can actually see and select your character.
But then a connecting screen shows up and the game crashes to desktop.
What does not
Ingame, as it crashes.
What was not tested
Ingame.
Additional Comments
PSOBB can be downloaded and played for free at SCHTHACK's server. It would be a great addition to Linux gaming.
If you want it working, please vote for this bug: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12964
Thanks.
Still Doesn't Work
by Andrew Lingenfelter on Wednesday December 1st 2010, 3:55
Same issues are still present. Using Wine 1.3.8 on Ubuntu 10.04 x64. Patches applied by the loader generally work (failed the first time, relaunching the loader allowed it to continue), patches from inside the game work, logging in and selecting a character works, but during the loading screen leading up to the ship selecting menu I get:
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x110060 "heap.c: main process heap section" wait timed out in thread 0038, blocked by 0039, retrying (60 sec)
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x110060 "heap.c: main process heap section" wait timed out in thread 003e, blocked by 0039, retrying (60 sec)
The game just hangs here while still playing audio.
No typing...

I have managed to get PSOBB working in window mode unfortunately when I get to the character creation screen I'm unable to type so I'm unable to name my character and can't get any further.
To get in game
by Zixaphir Modnar on Thursday July 2nd 2009, 21:25
To get in game, I have to enable a virtual desktop and start "online.exe" within the games install directory, otherwise the game will see itself starting outside of said directory and will not know where to find its data files.
Once in game, the game still crashes before allowing one to pick their "Ship" to be on.
