Every time I try to run Gamespy Internet Multiplayer I get as far as the lobby, but when I try to join a game the screen freezes.

The audio also seemed a little buggy, but it doesn't make to much of a difference except for being a bit garbled here and there. It didn't seem to impact gameplay speed at all.
There are a few settings in Wine and in game that may need changed depending on your computer.
In Wine Settings under the graphics tab, UNCHECK the box titled "Allow the window manager to control the windows" and make sure the box labeled "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows" IS CHECKED. Without these settings, the game did not seem to get past the main menu.
In the game, under graphic settings, try using 800x600x16. This game resolution seemed to be the only one that would play the game in full screen mode.
However, these settings may vary depending on your computer. Fiddling with them may be necessary for the game to run properly on your specific distribution and computer model.
As long as this dependency exists, according to http://appdb.winehq.org//help/?sTopic=maintainer_ratings rating can be at most gold, because vcrun6 is third party software.
