4066 Online Play Doesn't Work (DirectPlay) NEW View
4418 black screen when starting Warlords Battlecry NEW View

HOWTO
When you start the game, the screen may be black. Switch to another program (Alt + Tab) and then back to the game, and it should appear.

Elements such as taskbars designed to cover other applications are not hidden when Warlords Battlecry II is run in full-screen. This can be fixed by not allowing the window manager to control Wine applications (can be changed in winecfg), or by changing the taskbar's options so that windows are allowed to cover it.

Multiplayer
To get multiplayer working, place the DLLs in this archive in Wine's windows/system32 directory. Then, start winecfg and add dll overrides (native, builtin) for the following DLLs: dplayx, dpnet, dpnhpast and dpwsockx.
NOTE: the game freezes when exiting a multiplayer game.

The game itself runs the same way in windows, the resolution change is not applied until you run the game mode.

ADDENDUM
by Troy James Sobotka on Thursday May 29th 2008, 22:10
1024x768 works with the alt-tab trick. 800x600 and 1280x1024 will lock up.

Problems with resolution change
by Alexander Gehrke on Sunday March 9th 2008, 12:21
When I start Battlecry2, it uses a 800*600 resolution, which afaik can't be changed. my (tft) monitor has a native resolution of 1280*1024, so it has a ratio of 5:4 instead of 4:3. this causes battlecry to cut of part of the screen, so you have to guess where the buttons are.

When starting a map and changing resolution to 1280*1024 the window minimizes itself and if I try to bring it back, it only shows a small square of the game in the lower left corner of the desktop. This only happens fir 1280*1024, 1024*768 works fine.
