no news for the slow fps video-problem, but don't replace the avifil32, thats deprecated.

- install zak2 without xvid
- install ffdshow

thats it.

I have forgotten a significant detail. The game will not start correct if you don't use the following command to start the game.

__GL_FORCE_INDIRECT=1 wine zak2.exe

Videos

The videos actually do work if you use ffdshow (downloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow-tryout/ffdshow_beta4a_rev1723_20071224_clsid.exe) instead of the xvid decoder that comes with zak2.
After the installation you have to override avifil32.

I don't know whether it works or not, because I must download it at first, but the Engine knows the command -gl, that could improve the compatibility...
