What does not
During character creation in a new game and also in the character skills menu in-game, there is unbearably huge lag that goes away as soon as the window is closed. This lag makes the game frusterating to the point of being unplayable, since you need to go in and out of that window fairly often.
Also, sound stutters a lot if the sound driver is not set to emulation. (winecfg -> Sound -> driver emulation checkbox near the bottom)

Playing through the entire game.
Additional Comments
the actual programs that you run for the demo and the full version are identical, the full version is just unlocked with a code, hence any test for the demo also apply to the full version. This goes for all Avernum/exile games.
Also note that while this game and Avernum 5 share the same engine (which is a different engine than Avernum 1-3), and are very similar, Avernum 5 does not have the same problem with lag in the skills window.
