Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installation, tutorial, gameplay.
What does not
There was some kind of resolution snafu when I first started the game, which resulted in the right portion of the screen being cut off. But after running the included ConfigEditor.exe and turning on Direct3D support (which seems to be UseD3D=1 in Disciple.ini), everything seems to be running fine.
What was not tested
Multiplayer.

Disciple II gold
by pangeh on Wednesday January 19th 2011, 11:08
Hi,
I just managed to install this game after resolving the cd swapping issue. It installed fine.
However now, after installing, when I try to install the game I get an error saying failed to intialize and then the wine window closes. I have played around with the disciples II configuration settings and also set wine to run in virtual desktop mode and manually set screen res to different resolutions but still get the same problem.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and wine 2.
I was able to launch the game using virtual box with Winxp virtual desktop but it was buggy and kept crashing. Want to get this to run in Ubuntu through Wine.
Would anyone please advise how I might rectify this issue and/or point me in the right direction to resolving it.
Can't initialize Disciples
by Jan Žegklitz on Saturday November 20th 2010, 15:43
I installed the game successfully without any trouble, the game config works, but when I run the Discipl2.exe, it gives me an error window saying "Can't initialize Disciples". After clicking on OK on this error, the game exits.
I tried to play with settings both in the game config (checking/unchecking D3D, compatibility mode, windowed mode, etc.) and the winecfg (virtual desktop, windows version...).
When I try to use the no-cd patch, the game crashes without saying anything.
no-cd patch
by Sergej on Sunday November 1st 2009, 14:24
I'm trying to play with CD in, but the game requires to "insert CD" =)
OK, I've asked _internet_ for a no-cd patch and got one (1.1 MB, replacing Discipl2.exe ), but game crashes with this.
What should I do?
