Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works

  • Everything, except what does not work

What does not

  • Setting shadow detail to 'best' creates nasty black artifacts near mountains or other big objects
  • Shading causes some water artifacts and come corruption in mini-map rendering

What was not tested

  • multi-player

Additional Comments

No problems with the installation. However, in order to make the game work, you'll have to move/rename/delete all of the .avi files from the "data/" directory in our Massive Assault installation (the files are gmxmedia.avi, intro.avi and WarGaming.avi)
I've also installed DX9 along with mscoree.dll, fusion.dll and dbghelp.dll (although I don't know if they are necessary).

*note from admin: it's not recommended to install microsoft directx, since wine has its own implementation

Works out of the box

Ok, it seems MA works fine without installing DX9, or any other additional dlls. The only thing you need to do, is, as I've said, delete/move/rename the .avi (gmxmedia.avi; intro.avi; WarGaming.avi) files within the 'Massive Assault/data/' directory.

Enjoy
