What works
Tested most of the functions and everything seems to work, data input and manipulation. Regressions, fitting, etc. Graphing works with the problems stated below.
What does not
There is a minor issue of the graph zoom function not working in version 9 but that seems to have been fixed
in 10 and 11. The problem with SigmaPlot is that the y-axis title on the graphs
is rotated 180 degrees and shifted to the lower left right. This is really a
show stopper as the graphs cannot be used for scientific papers created solely
in Linux. When pasted into an OpenOffice document or Word XP, 2003 or 2007 the
problem still exists. If they are sent to a windows machine they do appear
correctly. I have been watching bug 14527, which was fixed in 1.1.2 but the error is still present in SigmaPlot
What was not tested
integration with Excel
Additional Comments
SigmaPlot, versions 9, 10 and 11 will all install and function. I had the best success with win version set to Win 98. Program will install but will not run due to ole error. In order to get around this you need to install DCOM98 and then the program functions properly.
If you want to try the DEMO version the install will work but the program will not run do to a problem with the temporary license. To get around this you need to copy the SigmaPlot folder (demo version) from a windows machine (huge pain I know) and then everything works.
