drive detection summary
by Dmitry Vukolov on Sunday September 20th 2009, 5:17
In short, open ImgBurn, go to Settings->I/O and select ASPI as the Interface. It should now be able to detect all your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives without any additional wine configuration.

Both
forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=7234&mode=linear
and
jdrrant.blogspot.com/2009/01/imgburn-on-linux.html
talk about the drive detection problem, and
offer various workarounds...
