Get the game running
The game works fine with a fixed executable from the Widescreen Gaming Forum.

It is available in this thread:

https://www.wsgf.org/forum/forums/gaming/requestdiscuss-game-solutions/21771/ford-racing-2-windows-vista7-fix-needed-not-

The provided executable there only works with the russian version. To get it running with any other version, do the following:

  • Run "winetricks wmp10" to get rid of the getkey.dll error
  • Copy the fixed FR2.exe from wsgf into your installation
  • Use a program like Hex Editor MX to open any .spc-file from the sounds folder
  • Look at the 13th, 14th and 15th byte of the .spc file. Copy them.
  • Open the fixed FR2.exe with Hex Editor and replace the string "71 F6 40" with the one you noted.
  • Run the game
