To
get around the cursor/pointer bug, you will need to edit the
"~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/..../Application Data/Microsoft
Games/Rise of Nations/rise2.ini" file and set ForceGDICursor=1.

mouse key single left-click

I had the same bug as mentionned but the solution was different:
In the file ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/fpwin/Application Data/Microsoft Games/Rise of Nations/rise2.ini,
I changed O to 1 at the lin ForceLowCPUBackgroundVid=1 and now the mouse key single left-click is goin well.
By the way :
I Use debian lenny with whine 1.0.1-1
I downloaded Patchw32.dll from the given addresstéléchargé à l'adresse indiquée
I installed mfc42.dll using the winetricks script with "vb6run – MS Visual Basic 6 runtime" selected
To enable multiplayer games I installed some dlls using the winetricks with "directplay – MS DirectPlay (from DirectX 9 user redistributable)" selected
In the file ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/fpwin/Application Data/Microsoft Games/Rise of Nations/rise2.ini changed to 1 the SkipIntroMovies=1 parameter to skip the videos at the beginning
