Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail! is a computer game, part of the Leisure Suit Larry Love for Sail! Leisure Suit Larry, whose "actual" name is Larry Laffer, is a balding, dorky, double entendre speaking, leisure suit-wearing
(but still somewhat lovable) loser in his 40s who spends much of his
life trying (usually unsuccessfully) to seduce attractive women. It featured more fleshed-out, cartoon style graphics and full
voice acting, was the sixth installment in the LSL series.
Old test results

What works
Installation works if you skip the system check
What does not
Game doesn't run even if starting the SIERW5.EXE from the hard drive. I have also tried it from CD but that doesn't work either. Also no "start game" button is shown.

*Failure to set Wine Windows version to Win 98 or 95 may result in a "not enough space on drive" error.

Click "OK" for full installation (small install has not been tested-but feel free to try if you like)
Installation will begin.
Creation of menu items & icons will fail. Click "OK" to these errors
A dialog will appear asking if you want to register.
After registration (or not) installation is finished
To Run:
Go to the CDROM directory containing the Leisure Suit Larry 7 Love For Sail! disk.
Run autoplay.exe using Wine.
Select "Run" to run the game.
Failure to Run game from Autoplay.exe on the CD:
I've seen this in previous versions of Wine where "Run" can not be selected after install in "autoplay.exe". It looks like it came back somewhere around 1.1.2* and will likely disappear & reappear again, so I'll leave the note here.
Try running sierw5.exe from the CD
If that failed (or crashed), try running sierw5.exe from the hard drive.
It should be installed at
"~/.wine/drive_c/SIERRA/LSL7/SIERW5.exe"
Good luck. Hope it worked.
* Thanks to Nick Boughton for bringing this to my attention.
