Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works
Installation. Starting a new game. Intro video is beautiful.

What does not
Loading the first level. It freezes at 80%. Because of this the game cannot be played.

What was not tested
The rest of the game. The first level will not load.

Additional Comments

Installs, you can start a new game, video intro looks beautiful, but it locks up while loading the first level. I rated it garbage because you cannot load the first level, let alone play the game.

HOWTO

The game needs more or less the same procedure as the original Crysis. See here for more info

The Installer is currently broken. Either use the Steam version or install in a Virtual Machine.

HOWTO

What do you need ?

- A fast CPU. We suggest minimally quad cores.

- A fast graphic card. Something like nVidia GTX2xx/4xx/5xx. The game will probably not work with AMD card

- A fast Linux distro. Something like Gentoo or Arch Linux. You can run it on some slower user friendly distro like Ubuntu, Fedora... but you will have low fps and it will be hard to play it.

- Some free time

How to install it ?

- 1.) You have to install the latest Wine with this patch:
http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27310

- 2.) You have to install these winetricks:

d3dx9 d3dx9_26 d3dx9_28 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_35 d3dx9_36 d3dx9_42 d3dx10 d3dxof devenum dinput8 directmusic directplay directx9 dmsynth fontsmooth-rgb quertz nocrashdialog

- 3.) You have to install the game and patch it with Warhead patch 1.1 for better performance

mouse warp override

I found the xinput2 patch at bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6971#c351 very useful, eg see bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31863.

With it, there's no need to set the mouse warp override to force, so you can use the mouse for the menus.

The fix was to patch wine but not worth it imho.

Runtime error
by Xavier Vachon on Saturday September 27th 2008, 9:21
I get a Runtime error in install: Cannot open AVI when I try to load the setup. The console output is limited unfortunately.

err:msvidc32:CRAM_DecompressBegin Bad output format
err:msvidc32:CRAM_DecompressBegin Bad output format

I use Wine 1.1.5 and Ubuntu Hardy X64. The test result does not mention anything about patching wine prior to installation, therefore I am unsure about what to do.
