Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works
Playing songs seeking adding to songs to playlists launching spotify installing

What does not
I can't listen anything else while i am something on spotify. For example i am watching (with sound, duh) something on youtube and i start spotify to listen something it just gives me the "theres something wrong with your sound card error". Also adjusting cannot be done, for example if i press the maximize icon spotifys corners just sharpens put it does not maximize. This seem to have been problem in previous wine releases (according to the other test results) but is now reappeared.

What was not tested
Song purchase, working with other than open accounts.

Additional Comments

I am on open account, and i checked oss and alsa drivers as the as the spotify document says.

I see no reason to give Spotify a Platinum... You may only give it a Platinum if it's working flawlessly.. But since there are LOTS errors in the background... Silver maybe Gold as most.. but definitely not a a Platinum...

The most critical (and annoying) error is the one where the sound driver seems to crash when you are jumping in and between the songs...

It might be fine if it only crashes like once maybe twice an hour.. But when you have to restart Spotify all the time, since it crashes about 4 times in only one minute. Trust me, you WILL go crazy.

Playing local files
by Remco on Saturday May 1st 2010, 7:46
Playing local files don't work, importing works, but when you want to play them spotify says that it's a file format that isn't supported. Playing the file with windows doesn't give the error.

New spotify
by Sam on Thursday April 29th 2010, 5:48
Tried out the new Spotify under wine today and apart from importing facebook friends I cant find a single thing wrong with it. I might even say it's more stable under wine than the last version despite all the new functions.

Updater
by Zoidberg on Friday July 31st 2009, 4:47
Spotify's auto-update also works in Wine. It seems to create a bat file containing the following:

z:\home\user> goto starter
z:\home\user> del "C:\Windows\Temp\SpotifyUpgrader.exe"
z:\home\user> if exist "C:\Windows\Temp\SpotifyUpgrader.exe" goto Repeat
z:\home\user> del "C:\Windows\Temp\~spotify~.bat"

Using the standalone exe has always worked well for me.

Sound hiccuping?
by Jorge Azevedo on Saturday June 13th 2009, 19:48
I've been experiencing some sound issues. Hiccup is a stupid word, but really the sound just mutes and comes back very fast.

With alsa and pulseaudio and the official recommended configuration maybe 3 times per minute, with ossv4 I'm getting maybe once every 2minutes. Does anyone experienced this? Any optimum configuration that might solve it?

Spotify graphics issues
by Rachael Borek on Friday February 13th 2009, 6:38
I'm also having some graphical trouble with Spotify. Parts of the window just show as black rectangles, and more things turn into black rectangles if I move the mouse over them (mainly things like artist names). It is better in full screen mode - then, it looks OK until I move the mouse around, then stuff starts going black. But it is at least useable.

I also can't get it to use my USB speakers instead of the inbuilt laptop speakers.

As you can see the text is all wierd and pause play etc is invisible.
