Additional Comments
Really need this to work, even if it involves another hack to get it to work its the only thing stopping me from being able to move to linux for my main work PC. A Client of mine requires me to us Liveperson.
The only main part that is not working is the message box being blank I believe this is due to a lack of IE but if this could be emulated it would be great.

Tip to make it work
by Kent Asplund on Saturday November 8th 2008, 4:36
Running Live Person 8.2 on Debian Lenny with wine 1.0.1.
Originally installed on Debian Etch with wine 0.9.40 (I think)
Live Person has a need of Internet Explorer and the built in substitute did not work so I installed IE6 with the help of ies4linux www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page
Then I exchanged ~/.wine the resulting catalog ~/.ies4linux/ie6 (I had no applications installed previously so the loss of the wine installation did not matter)
> rm ~/.wine -rf
> cp -a ~/.ies4linux/ie6 ~/.wine
Then I installed Live Person.
Done!
It seems to mostly work, including accepting chat.
