GUID files
by kralyk on Tuesday November 10th 2009, 11:23
You can actually configure Shareaza to not create those GUID files.

Go to Tools > Shareaza Setting > Advanced, scroll all the way down to item "Library.UseFolderGUID" and set this option to "false".

See screenshot: img340.imageshack.us/img340/4820/shareaza.png

Note: you need to be in power mode in order to reach advanced settings.

Usability Tips

Use the following symlink command to make Shareaza download to your home directory.

rm -r ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Shareaza/Downloads & ln -s ~ ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Shareaza/Downloads

If you share your home directory, you will find *Shareaza.GUID files allover, to remove, un-share it and use the following command to remove them.

cd ~
find -name '*Shareaza.GUID' -exec rm {} \;
