I searched through that config file but I'm a little confused on steps 3 and 4 actually. I guess I'm not sure what I am looking for, something with the resolution?

Making progress
by Bigfoot on Monday August 31st 2009, 16:42
Greetings! Well, progress is slowly being made on my end. I just figured I would post my results. I applied the patch to wine-1.1.28 and disabled D3D9 and can now "start" the game. What happens is the opening picture of Mona with the status bar on the right will show, however I will then get a black screen when the Crimson Cow and AME logos are being showed, although the music is still being played in the background.

The menu will then show up and render properly, however when I try to start a new game, I will get a black screen again and then nothing. No terminal output or anything.

This is a step forward though from what I had, so definitely thank you for this so far! I don't have a ton of time to mess around with this as the new semester just started, but in my free time I will see what I can come up with.

The game is working
by Josselin Bardet on Friday August 21st 2009, 13:42
Hi,

Good news, I have succesfully run this game!
I've made this patch to make it runnable :
cheztoi.net/patch_vampyre

The game was crashing because of GetRawInputDeviceList and GetRawInputDeviceInfoA stubs
The game (because of Panda 3D engine) seems to need at least one mouse raw device

You need also to set a virtual desktop of 1024x768 in winecfg

Finally, add a dll replacement for d3d9 in winecfg and set it to "disabled", otherwise you will have corrupted textures and white screens

Error on launch
by Josselin Bardet on Saturday December 27th 2008, 4:50
I've installed the game through windows
When trying to run it, the game crashed early and give this trace:
paste2.org/p/121256

I've also take a log with WINEDEBUG set to all, but the result trace take 177 Mb. You can find it here gzipped (6.6 MB):

Installer hangs on unimplemented function
by Markus on Wednesday November 26th 2008, 5:50
Trying to install either demo or retail game brings the same results. The installer is broken on a certain point in the setup short after the main data archives are transferred. The function in question is:

setupapi.dll.SetupPromptForDiskW

See shell dump here:
