Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works
Out of the box: *The game(you WILL get slow framerates before changing rendering to gdi) *Everything except movies(Install ffmepg and direct X 9 from winetricks to fix)

What does not
Sadly default some fonts is not readable, it will show up as rubbish. But ripping over useable fonts from a working Windows install will fix that issue(Copy over the Fonts folder from the C:\Windows folder over to your wine installs windows folder, and enjoy the magic)

What was not tested
Not played further than intro(about 1 and a half hour long) + opening cinamatic.

Additional Comments

If movies had worked out of the box it would have been platinium worthy, sadly it is not.

HOWTO Fix Issues

Modify the settings in the userconf.exe file that comes with the game to use gdi directly (can be rather difficult as it's all in japanese).

img205.imageshack.us/img205/7416/screenshot4wo0.jpg

This screenshot gives you an idea of which settings affect performance the most; From top to bottom, change the options marked in the screenshot with a * to

/ dibsect
/ no
/ gdi
/ api

The game will give and error and not allow you to continue gameplay when attempting to play videos. A workaround for this issue is to simply delete the video.xp3 file found in the working directory.

No menu
by Rick Faries on Monday January 31st 2011, 11:54
Man I finally got it installed and it doesn;t even launch into the menu screen. Just goes straight into the game (new game). Very confusing.

Getting movies to work.
by Dimitri Vorona on Friday October 8th 2010, 15:15
Got movies to works with wine 1.2.1 and English Path 3.2

Installed DX9, FFDSHOW and OGG with winetricks and set MSCVRT71 to native in winecfg (MSCVRT too, but it was "nativ then builtin" before than).

Not sure, if OGG is really necessary thou, you are welcome to try out without it.

Videos
by Catty Nebulart on Friday February 26th 2010, 17:23
I have most things working just fine but for some reason videos will still not play, although they don't give me an error, just a white screen.

What codec are needed? I installed all code in winetricks, but that hasn't solved the problem.

about userconfig
by rodrigo on Sunday November 1st 2009, 1:05
so there's no way to play the videos in the VN? I edited userconfig.exe as was explained on the first comment and removed video.tx from the folder but i would still really want to watch the videos

bug
by rodrigo on Thursday October 29th 2009, 0:21
I may have found a bug with this game. When playing windowed version you can use the keyboard very well, you can open the save menu, load menu and etc. But when you turn to full screen view, for some reason the game doesn't respond to the keyboard in other words you cannot save your progress even after returning to windowed view....

no scripture
by rodrigo on Wednesday October 28th 2009, 12:59
I am having a problem running this game because I cannot see any scriptures in it, just a lot of zeors... I am using Mac OsX 10.5.7 and CrossOver 8.0 pro, have installed fonts on the bottle but the problem still persists.

Cannot install from loopback device
by Thomas Yen on Thursday August 6th 2009, 19:28
I tried an unconventional method of installation: mounting an iso image of the game CD using loopback to my cdrom0 folder, and running the installer. (I configured Wine to use my cdrom0 folder as the CD drive.) The installer keeps saying that the CD cannot be detected ("Could not find the Japanese game disc. Please insert the disc and try again.") I tried installing using a virtual drive and the iso images on my Windows box, and it worked fine. Anyone know why it couldn't be installed?

Voices are harsh...
by Karl H. Grube on Tuesday June 30th 2009, 16:37
Anyone know how to fix the harsh voices? I installed everything correctly, and the game runs fine, except that the voices have a very harsh sound to them...especially when the characters say consonant Sss...
