What works -patching to 1.2
-you have to override xinput1_3.dll ; d3dx9_36.dll ; openal32.dll (106.5 KB) and wrap_oal.dll (435.5 KB) to get the game working
-playing the game
-movies
-playing in 1280x800 with aspect 16:10 (changed manually in ~/Codemasters/GRID/hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config.xml)
What does not
-playing without NODVD
-installer hangs on DirectX installing
-ORM=fbo or pbuffer
-badly rendered surfaces of cars (you have to enable 2xmsaa multisampling )
-shadows (disable because they don't work as they should and are causing huge performance drop)
-4xmsaa and higher multisampling
-lights in the night

-whole game
Additional Comments
The game works fast on everything set to high (beside shadows, vsync and 4xmsaa) in 1280x800. My card allows me to run on everything high on MS Windows. Correct OpenAL32.dll can be downloaded from http://www.filefactory.com/file/c552a0/n/OpenAL_rar
I recommend to set:
HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/Multisampling=enabled
HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/VideoMemorySize=YourVideoRAMSize
If you've got problems with sound set OSS in winecfg or use PulseAudio patch from http://art.ified.ca/?page_id=40
