  • Validating/entering license key

What does not

  • Game will not start.

What was not tested

  • Playing the game, for obvious reasons.

Additional Comments

You will need to download microsoft.vc80.crt.zip and move the files in the folder into the DefenseGrid folder. However, the game will not start and there are no error messages. This may be due to my 64-bit operating system.

Crashes after selecting level
by David on Thursday November 25th 2010, 16:01
Using Wine 1.3.7 with Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. I also installed vcrun2008sp1 dx3d9. Still failed so I installed directx9. This didn't help any.

If I run "env WINEPREFIX="/home/buttink/.wine" wine C:\\Games\\Steam\\Steam.exe" via the command line. I get this as my final output when I play.

err:mmtime:TIME_MMTimeStop Timer still active?!

I have no idea if this is an error from steam or the game but I hope it helps.

One last thing. When I load the game, sometimes there isn't text for the stage names and sometimes there is.

vcrun2005sp1

Please don't install vc2005sp1 it's way too huge, just install vcrun2005sp1 (via winetricks) this is enough and just a few MB instead of GB.

Did you read the application-wide note to lower the quality?
by WolfWings on Sunday February 22nd 2009, 1:17
There's a known issue preventing the game from loading in high-quality mode. Open the config.ini file in the program directory, and change Quality to 0 or 1.
