Description

After a long hiatus w/ the development of Rainmeter, the wheels seem to be turning once again in favor of interest. This particular version of Rainmeter is the last version before the extended period of no production, and unfortunately it does have some issues w/ WINE that need to be resolved.

Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.

What works

Installing the program is normal and routine. Upon loading the program, the system tray icon for Rainmeter appears on the KDE 4.2.2 tray, as intended. To change the skin or load an already-provided skin, right click on the tray icon. When a skin is loaded, no matter whether it's custom or provided, the program displays nothing except a faintly transparent box. [see: what does not work]

Configuration options can be edited via WINE's-provided Notepad (the same as Windows - editing options w/ Notepad).

What does not
Upon loading a skin, a faint, transparent box sometimes displays itself on the screen. Other times no box is present, but right-clicking on the desktop in the presumed skin's loading area presents the user with Rainmeter's usual options.

Changing the layer of the affected skin offers no condolensce, nor does changing the affected layer's transparency.

Considering the skin does not load at all, this makes the usability of the program nonexistant.

What was not tested
Obviously, with no skin loading, checking other features is not exactly applicable.

Additional Comments

The stability of the program, even though the skin appears to load but doesn't, is (the best I can classify) very stable. Despite this, the program is still unusable given the failed display of the skin.

Please see bug report [soon to follow this posting] regarding Rainmeter's inability to display a skin. Within the bug report, I will post the output on loading a skin.

Regarding posted images: The majority were found on various websites using Google Images for the sole purpose of displaying what Rainmeter does/can do. Considering I've no way of actually using Rainmeter short of the image displaying what the program actually does, I am incapable of loading my own skins for this purpose. If you would like your displayed skin credited, please throw me a message.
