What does not

Got a black screen, but could hear audio. Probably a driver problem. Ati Radeon 4850 fglrx 8.600

in-game

Additional Comments

I am giving it a Bronze because it runs... Just no picture, just a black screen. Wonder if someone with a Nvidia video card might be able to get it to work.

Everything runs normal, but one tiny problem, i can't see anyone.

I can see grass, trees, even blood and fire from enemies and me but i can't see neither wolverine nor his enemies :)

Does anyone know how to fix this or how to find the problem in this ?

I am using propietry drivers for radeon hd 5770.

Steps to make it work
by Juan Pablo Bouza on Friday December 31st 2010, 10:29
I had to make a clean install of wine and I spent some time figuring out how to make this game work again. Here is how I did it:

wine 1.2 (Physx won't install in 1.3)

winetricks:

_vcrun2005
_vcrun2008
_vcrun6
_physx

Then I had to install directx 9 from wolverine's CD, cause the game asks for a xapofx1_1.dll, which is only installed from there.

winetricks again:

_directx9

Finally I had to change the dll override of msvcrt (which was installed by the vcruns) to "builtin, native"

In order to have in game sound I use the OSS driver instead of alsa.

By copying these lines at the en of /.wine/user.reg you get a huge performance boost:

[Software\\Wine\\Direct3D] 1258821033
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"
"Nonpower2Mode"="repack"
"OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo"
"RenderTargetLockMode"="auto"
"UseGLSL"="readtex"
"VertexShaderMode"="hardware"
"VideoDriver"="nv4_disp.dll"
"VideoMemorySize"="1024" (this depends on your video card)

After all these I installed wine 1.3 and everything went well.

geforce GTS 250, kubuntu 10.04.
I've installed directx 9 with winetricks and everything works really great! I solved the sound issue by selecting oss instead of alsa.
Everythng works well, amazing effects!!
