What works
Installer works
Game play works with no-cd patch
Shadows are working properly with 1.1.25 and 173 Nvidia drivers on my 7600GS AGP
What does not
After the installer finishes instead of starting the game it returns to the desktop.
Running without no-cd patch the game starts and then aborts back to the desktop.
renaming hp.exe to hp.exe.bak and copying the hp.exe from the no-cd patch to the program directory solves the issue, and it starts as expected from the launcher icon.
What was not tested
Played very far along, but have not found every secret.
Additional Comments
I would evaluate the experience as Platinum but for the need for the no-cd patch.
