How-to for AP5.0, 5,1, 5.2
Install the following way in a terminal, use the wineprefix command for installation in a clean environment
You need to have (the latest) winetricks installed

cd ~/ && wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks && chmod +x winetricks

env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x sh winetricks corefonts mdac28 jet40 msxml4 directx9 ie6 wininet dotnet20

env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine '/path/to/albumplayer_setup5x.exe' (install AlbumPlayer V5.x)

env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine regedit

Go to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command"
Edit and change it to C:\windows\system32\winebrowser.exe -nohome "%1"
(Set native firefox as the default browser)

env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine "C:\Program Files\AlbumPlayer\AlbumPlayer.exe"

Workaround browser bug 13891

A webpage request from within Albumplayer does open up the wine browser, but not the native Linux browser.

Open regeditor with

"wine regedit" in terminal,
(use the env Wineprefix if applied earlier in the Additional Comments)

Go to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command"
Edit and change it to C:\windows\system32\winebrowser.exe -nohome "%1"

It now launches the native Linux browser.

TIP on Minilyrics

It works, but has some startup problems.

Best way is to start it manual twice, three or four times (shortly after each other) while playing a song

Manual search in Allmusic Guide

Works now with ie6 & wininet installed,

Follow the howto

Workaround database connection errors (bug 20225)

In WINE 1.1.30 (and perhaps later versions) there are database connection errors. (bug 20225)

Run "env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap51 wine winecfg"

and go to libraries, add"OLEDB32.DLL" and set it to native,

if you installed mdac28 already you need to reinstall it once again.
