EmEditor is a lightweight, yet extendable, easy-to-use text
editor for Windows. EmEditor is very customizable, and it supports
Unicode and powerful macros. EmEditor now supports very large files -
up to 248 GB or 2.1 billion lines. The portable version is also
available for USB drive setup.

What works
The installer runs without problems (using msiexec). Even the tray icon is installed successfully.
The editor seems to work fine, except that I had to change the font from Courier to another Linux font. I even tried opening a 1.4 GB text file, and it was opened flawlessly. The editor appears to be as fast as it is on Windows.
The portable version works too (with the same font issue), but some of its features do not work well.
What does not
The portable version has some problems. For example, opening the Help -> About dialog and clicking the "How to purchase" button causes the editor to crash. I have also faced a couple more crashes while trying it.
Also the transparency in toolbar icons is not working in either versions.
What was not tested
I only tried it for a few minutes, so I didn't test it thoroughly.
Additional Comments
The installable version looks promising. The portable version is not as stable.
