Wolfenstein is a supernatural/science fiction first-person
shooter, based on the video game series developed by Id Software that
has been a favorite of 2D and 3D gamers across multiple game iterations
and platforms since the early 1980s. In this new take, players battle
the Nazi's dark obsession with the occult through epic action and
harrowing shooter combat. Filled with ferocious enemies, movie-quality
action scenes, unique gameplay environments, an impressive array of
weapons and compelling multiplayer gameplay options, it is truly a
fitting new chapter in the history of this classic gaming franchise.

Additional Comments
Rig: AMD x2 6000+ @3,3 ghz, 6 GB 800mhz ram, Geforce 8800GTS 320MB, kernel 2.6.31-6, video drivers 185.18.14, ext4 filesystem
wolf settings:1152x864 windowed, all detail max.
little workaround:
have to set repeat keys off, otherwise cannot plant bombs and such actions.
framerate is very playable (above 30, dunno exactly), granade explosions and big action slowers the game slightly, but nothing huge.
and edit as you wish, if you set fullscreen to 0, and then go back to game menu, you will be able to change resolution from the menu as well. Just don't set it to fullscreen again.

v1.1.28 Crash
by 8Kuula on Tuesday September 1st 2009, 8:06
H!
Did play whole game thru without problems. All did work well except mouse did sometimes did apear center of screen after looking map/objects/intel/etc. or game menu, relaunch game did fix that, minor problem realy.
But now that im replaying from start im getting crashes :(
Did start new game with uber difficulty and collecting all items (so alot replys on same missions, have done ;)
Im up to warehouse/downtown missions and game started to crash, first it did feel like random, but seems its same spot, have checkpoint save that after moving to same doorway it allways crashes, every time :\
First it did start to do it after warehouse mission, but i did skip it (loaded older save before warehouse) and started to do downtown one up to where you need to go talk those ppl in sewers, and it crashes on way out on that doorway now.
Command: env WINEDEBUG=fixme-all wine ./Wolf2.exe
gives this output on crash. (that err:d3d... line is full of terminals buffer, so alot)
err:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_SetTexture Current stage overflows textures array (stage 256)
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0xb2cd42a (thread 0009), starting debugger...
It displays that wine crash window but can't click ok on it or anything to interact with it, so can only kill Wolf2.exe prosess.
Clean ~/.wine directory + d3dx9_36.dll file in .../windows/system32, could not even get game start without it. Reinstalled game too, no luck either.
Actions repeating after exiting the map
by Mike on Saturday August 29th 2009, 13:16
It seems like almost every time I exit the map (tab), some action starts and it won't stop until I perform the action manually. For example, I'll start to walk forward and won't stop until I press the forward movement binding. Other times I'll start firing wildly and it won't stop until I've either run out of ammo or press the fire key. I don't think I've done anything strange to my game/wine config that would cause such a thing to happen. Has anyone else seen this?
Mouse cursor showing up ingame
by Mike on Saturday August 29th 2009, 0:48
The mouse cursor shows up for me every once in a while, usually in the middle of the crosshair. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix?
The installation seemed to hang at the end and I killed off the process. The 1.1 patch complained that it didn't know where Wolfenstein was installed, possibly because the registry entries hadn't been created yet. I was able to browse for the directory and apply the patch. No issues playing the game because of this.
Overall, the game is running pretty well for me. I had to disable keyboard repeat to be able to use explosives (and probably anything else that requires you to hold a key). The mouse is a bit uncomfortable, which is weird, I've never really had input problems with other id Software game engines.. Another minor yet annoying issue is I can't get into the console. I've got +seta com_allowConsole 1, but "`", "~", and various combinations of alt+control+~/` I've seen on the Wolf boards won't open it. I've tried to manually add bindings with the "toggleconsole" command used in every other id game, but every time I start up the game, the command is removed from the .cfg file. It's like they're purposely looking for and disabling this. It'd be nice to get access to the console, because I'm tired of clicking half a dozen menu items to quit out of the game. Some strange UI designs here I think..
