Had to use winetricks directx and dinput fix. I had initial problems with the keyboard not being recognised, so when first trying the game I'd recommend doing it in a Wine desktop.
I had to set the Windows version to ME to get the keyboard to work (I'm using an Apple Aluminium keyboard, not sure if that makes a difference but I hope it helps you.)
I haven't tested the joystick support.
