What works
Installation successful. The only problem I encountered were the "access control list" errors (it seems to have something in common with setting NTFS privileges on created directories). Vorbis did copy to the Windows dir, but it didn't register itself in system.ini (a little editing did the trick).
The application itself works fine. Every plugin that I've tested worked (including the Wasp, which had an issue with mfc42.dll, just install the dll and it will work). There's a transparency issue (the logo, Fruity Dance plugin), but it's might be related to me running the whole thing on MacOS X).
What does not
Didn't find eanything. ;)
What was not tested
The additional programs, that are supplied with the default install of FL Studio. I just concentrated on the application itself.
Additional Comments
For all you OS X fans out there: I recommend using Wine and especially WineBottler builds made by kronenberg.org. WineBottler is very helpful with installation of third-party libraries (mfc, vb runtime, ogg, dx9, etc.) during software installation and can make an .app bundle out of your Windows app. ;) It really eases things up.
Add Vorbis-Ogg support (I.E. Built-in drum loops and FPC ... etc.)
wine notepad 'C:\windows\system.ini' or your favorite *nix text editor
(*nix path is '~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system.ini')
...And then add this in the drivers32 section:
MSACM.vorbis=vorbis.acm
Good luck!!!
Reported fixed in wine 1.3.28 and later

Its working

If you use PlayOnLinux, and create a virtual C drive, then install FL Studio in the C drive using any version of wine you want it works, i used the Wine System instead of choosing a version, my audio is a little scrambled but it works for the most part.

Sound trouble 1.3.25
by Remco Korevaar on Thursday July 28th 2011, 13:34
The latest update makes FL Studio garbage. Sound doesn't work anymore, or sometimes does, but lags extremely.
Probably caused by the re-write of the Windows 7 audio driver.
Possible FL Browser path length bug
by Bill on Thursday May 13th 2010, 16:50
I would be interested to know if anyone else can duplicate this possible bug, in FL 9.1 and Wine 1.1.44:
In menu OPTIONS->File settings I have a custom folder set to C:\SynthPresets\ and then I have several levels of subfolders below that. Using the FL Browser window I can drill down until the path is approximately 64 characters long, something like C:\SynthPresets\AnotherFolder\AnotherFolder\AnotherFolder etc. and then FL no longer opens/shows the contents of that sublevel. I tested this under Windows and I don't see the problem there, so this is probably a Wine bug.
when i try to boot fl studio 9, sometimes it works other times it shows the splash screen and then a white semi transparent windows goes over my screen. when it does boot correctly (rarely) it works perfectly. i have signature edition but i dont think it makes a difference because the demo did the same thing, in fact the signature edition runs better thn the demo.
No audio in FL 9.0.3
by Bill on Sunday January 3rd 2010, 12:23
I have not been able to get any audio from FL 9.0.3 in Ubuntu Karmic using Wine 1.1.35. Tried removing PulseAudio and using ALSA. Also tried in FL both the Primary sound driver and WineASIO via Jack. If anyone else can confirm this, then maybe it's worthy of a new bug report.
No Main Window shown
by Dave Vickery on Thursday November 12th 2009, 9:59
I've tried to install on both my laptop and desktop. In both cases the application appears to start and shows the initial dialog. But neither will show the main window. The application is still running.
Both PCs are running ArchLinux and using Wine 1.1.32. The laptop is 64-bit with 32-bit Wine and has an ATI graphics card. The desktop is 32-bit with an NVidia graphics card.
If I run it from the command line I get the following:
fixme:mixer:ALSA_MixerInit No master control found on M Audio Audiophile 24/96, disabling mixer
fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate (0x2003c), partial stub!
fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate ((nil)), partial stub!
fixme:bitblt:client_side_dib_copy potential optimization: pixel format conversion
fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x188430,0x191e00): stub
err:richedit:ReadStyleSheet ReadStyleSheet: missing style number
Any help much appreciated, this is by far the best music system for me. I wish LMMS was as easy to use.
Cheers
Dave.
