Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installation works fine (take a long time to install DirectX). Running creator from the end of the installer doesn't work. Running creator from desktop shortcut start the creator, but the video is completly broken (at least with my configuration). Finally in the main menu the graphic is flickering.
What does not
Intro video is broken. Display is flickering.
What was not tested
Uninstall, full character creation.
If the sound cuts out permanently after a couple of minutes (eg during character creation) then you will need to run winecfg, go to the Audio tab, and change Hardware Acceleration to "emulation"
HOWTO sound
Sound works when starting the character creator application (located in the "bin_ship" subdirectory) without using the launcher application.

mouse input problems
by farfrael on Friday November 13th 2009, 9:30
recently installed the character editor, launched the application through the bin_ship executable and:
- application launches, video plays albeit with black bands all over the place, limited stutter
- the menu loads, things are actually looking pretty good, very limited to no flickering but I am stuck: my mouse pointer refuses to move.
The pointer shows but it is stuck in the middle of the screen. in the same way, keyboard does not appear to respond
hardware is a NVIDIA 9600 card with the 190.42 drivers
2 monitors (1600x1200 and 1280x1204) using Twinview
wine version is 1.1.29

Some flickering in videos and background
by Tero Konnola on Thursday November 5th 2009, 7:11
With Ubuntu 9.10 64bit, nvidia 185.18.36, GeForce 7300 GT and new wineprefix environment the creator works quite well without any modifications. Installer installs directx from 2007 (or tries at least).
Editor works, but intro video and black spots flicker. If I edit the ini as ordered the flickering is the same, but there is also color distortions for example in character. If I disable framebuffer support from game options the graphics flicker even more (tried opengl in direct3d settings, no help from there either).
