Dont know where to start. Just say that is a fully featured program where you wont miss any tool in Autocad.
V8i version comes with the new luxology rendering engine so you wont need to move to 3dmax like app to produce a visualization. The quality is really good.
If you want to exted the microstation you have Visual Basic way or MDL way wich is the native but more complex.
It has a refurbished interface since V8 version, that started improving with XM version. It looks very similar to XM, and considerabily different to V8.

The install process is divided in two parts.
1) Prerequisite pack installation
2) Program installation (V8i itself)
If the prerequisite pack is not installed it wont let you install the program. It says that the prerequisite are not installed.
What fails to me is the first step. It starts to install, showing the progress bars, and suddenly it vanishes and the process stops.
