What works
Product registration. The core program. Haven't tried many of the features yet but the tabs (Home, bills, banking, investing, net worth, options) seem to work fine.
What does not
Online updating: Must download bank transactions to desktop and then import. Cannot add new banks using the Quicken Lookup Wizard.

Just got it running.

Started with a clean .wine directory
* Using winetricks, I installed fontfix.
* Prior to Installing dotnet30: I had a problem with dotnet30 "ngen.exe hangs while compiling a particular assembly (out of file descriptors) (Bug 16258)" so I fixed it by typing at the shell:
$ su
# ulimit -n 4096
# su your_username
$ wine your_installer
* Using winetricks, installed dotnet30
* Using winetricks, installed ie6
* Using winetricks, installed gdiplus
* Using Wine, ran installer off of the Quicken Premier 2010 CD

Quicken 2010 Install via WineBottler

Installed Quicken 2010 on Mac OS X without any problems using WineBottler. Followed the instructions here by checking the box next to each of the programs listed in the steps and the program did the rest automatically. Didn't need to do anything with DirectX. The internet updates work and the program (as far as I can tell) runs just as it would in Windows.
Tried the same install with PlayonMac and had many problems with functionality. Internet updating never worked and, when attempted, would permanently crash the program, forcing a reinstall every time.

I know this is a newbe question, but Step three is mixing me up
$wine your_installer
does this refer to the Quicken installer.exe? if so why do we repeat this step at the end, and if not what does it refer to?
Thus far my only issue is that Quicken 2010 home and business doesn't have internet access, and any time I click on something that needs it, ie one step update, or quicken.com it crashes the application.

My first post to Wine HQ.
I got Quicken Premier 2010 to work... minus online updating of my bank transactions (it hangs as reported in other versions).
