DAZ Studio is commercial figure posing and rendering software. The basic version is free to use, but must be registered, DAZ Studio Advanced, which is new with Version 3, is retail software.

*this wine version (1.1.35 amd64) makes it run extremely fast (as in windows) :)
What does not
- cannt install directly (see extra comments)
- run in another mode than win98
- litle graphic glitchs in the interface (but don't worry they won't bother you)

- make a movie
- extra plugins

I used the ubuntu precompiled package for ubuntu 9.04 amd64 in the download page for my ubuntu 9.10 amd64
I had installed dazstudio 2.x before so if you have problems install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 library, I already had it installed

if you have dazstudio 2.X this daz version can import your settings and point to your content so dont worry about it, and you can have both versions
I couldnt install directly(I tested in winXP and Win98 mode)
To install and run:
- Install in windows XP to your hdd or in my case installed to an external HDD or where you can access later with linux
- Copy the folder where is installed to your wine folder /home//.wine/drive_c/
- Rund winecfg anc change to win98
- Run with console the DAZStudio exe
- If ask for the serial number click the button and it will open your browser to the site you can log in or register to obtain it
- Enjoy

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (very old)
RAM: 2 GB DDR2
GPU: GeForce 9600 GT (the passive giant cooler version) with 2 GB VRAM pcie: 8x (my MB dont support it at 16x)
MB: S2 series Gigabyte(1+ years old mb)
