What works Install - but ONLY with recent version(s) of wine.
With earlier versions of wine, install crashed during install of "Bonjour" (either as bundled or as independent download from Apple). It may be necessary to install independent download of Bonjour prior to attempting TiVo Desktop install.
Transcoding of TiVo recordings using 3rd-party applications (eg VideoRedo) which rely on components of the Tivo Desktop install.
What does not
Program startup - Tivo Desktop complains that there was an error accessing the "My Tivo Recordings" folder and asks user to specify an alternate location. Any location specified receives the same error, preventing program startup from completing.
However, the install is sufficient to provide DirectShow DLLs necessary for 3rd party programs (eg VideoRedo) to transcode TiVo recordings to mpg under Wine (tested successfully).
