Additional Comments
Nvidia Driver 256.44
sh winetricks d3dx9 physx vcrun2005 strictdrawordering=enabled
(vcrun2003 didn't work for me).
Copy contents from XP system "Documents and Settings/username/My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/" to "/home/username/.wine/dosdevices/c:/users/username/My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age"
Game config (found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckC5TezlP2o), I don't know if it's really necessary

Runs smoothly.
If the sound cuts out permanently after a couple of minutes (eg during character creation) then you will need to run winecfg, go to the Audio tab, and change Hardware Acceleration to "emulation"
HOWTO get DLC content working
Downloading the DLCs manually seems currently the only way to get them working.
Afterwards install them using the "daupdater.exe" (requires NET 2.0). Please note that they still require online validation.
HOWTO Language version mismatch
If the installer complains that the language version of Awakening does not match the language of the base game, install the newest patch manually prior to installing Awakening.
Awakening itself is shipped with patch 1.03 which is located in the "patch" folder on the DVD.
HOWTO Manual installation
(Copied from Jan Masko's 2010-03-24 test result)
1.manually extract .rar data files
2.add to ~/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings/AddIns.xml data from /addins/dao_prc_ep_1/manifest.xml (do not duplicate header commands)
3.in game select Other Campaigns and play
Also PhysX, DirectX9, MS VCrun2003 and no-cd crack are required to run game(same as normal game)
Game seems to be broken with wine 1.1.41

Voices sound problem
by someone on Sunday April 14th 2013, 15:56
If you don't get any sound from the voice who relate the story in the cinematic and the voices from the new characters, check if you have 2 addins folders in your Bioware directory (in your /home).
Problem can be solved by moving all the content from one of the directory to the other one.
Unsync sound...
by Mariano on Wednesday July 25th 2012, 21:05
Hey, running the game with all DLCs, no problems at all, with wine 1.4. The problem is sound is a bit "late" (about 1 second behind), which is seriously annoying (specially during all those nice movie scenes). :)
Other Campaigns
by Alok on Saturday May 8th 2010, 6:59
I followed the directions here, but the "other campaigns" button is greyed out. The core game is working for new games (haven't tried saved games yet, had to reinstall so have to fix DLC issues). Any ideas why I can't access the expansion?
