Additional Comments
I setted up a 32-bit wine environment ($ WINEARCH=win32 winecfg )( 64 bit makes maybe problem with the installer).
I have a GTX 460 and a AMD Phenom II X4 processor.
performance is okay, but not good. with a decent resolution and no special effects it is playable though.
To have a 360° Degree Mouse View in window-view set
$ winetricks mwo=force
for needing a 32 bit prefix and the mouse workaround gold instead platinum.

No audio
by doctordruidphd on Monday November 5th 2012, 17:09
I thought I would try this again, now with wine-1.5.16.
This is kubuntu-12.10-64bit.
The game installs and runs after installing winetricks xact, but no audio whatsoever. There is no indication from pulseaudio's pavucontrol that is even trying to output audio. Tried setting the xact dll to "builtin", didn't make any difference.
The game is installed with its own .wine directory.
Other games (wolfenstein, witcher, witcher2) work fine, with audio, so wine itself is working.
Video slow and jerky
by doctordruidphd on Wednesday June 30th 2010, 20:39
I set up a clean .wine, and installed the game. It would not run without installing DirectX, which I did from the DVD. Now the game runs, but the video is extremely slow.
System is:
Dell XPS 630i q9550 dual core-2, 8gb ram, 2x Nvidia 9800 GT cards, several hundred gb free disk space.
kUbuntu-10.04, kde desktop.
Video effects on the desktop are turned off. Also tried with gnome desktop, same problem.
Note that Witcher, Oblivion and Wolfenstein all run correctly (in their own .wine directories) so the system should handle the game.
Found bug, need help.

There are no ghosts. I mean, there are places in game where you should see some people running, screaming or such, like "events that took place in past and are shown as ghosts". I don't see them, they are invisible or game don't draw them at all. Well, i watched youtube videos and know what happened. But, it's bug. Any idea how to fix it?
