The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
- installing the game
- game intro and adjusting settings
- the game itself (against cops or the AI)
What does not
What was not tested
- playing against other players
To install the game create a clean wine env and inside it using winetricks install directx9, dotnet20, ie7, gdiplus (thanks Andrew for the tip) and enable glsl.
Tested under Nvidia GeForce 9400GT, using nvidia driver version 295.40
PS: sorry if the text looks weird, the html text editor is not working under Chrome browser.
Then install the game as normal.
Nothing else should be required. Feel free to experiment, but if something breaks, be sure to try this before asking for help.
Game update fails
The game update may fail, sometimes several times; simply click 'update' again to resume from where you left off, and it will eventually finish.
With recent versions of Wine (and/or the NFS World launcher), clicking the button has no effect. Closing and relaunching the game sometimes helps, but a more effective (and faster) way to work around this it to copy the game data over from a working Windows installation.
Occasionally a fatal error may occur during the startup of the launcher. A (Windows) error box will pop up, with options to show details, quit, or continue. If continue is pressed, another identical error will pop up immediately. To fix this, instead press quit, then relaunch the game.

Game Launcher Displaying incorrectly

If the game launchers text box is graphically glitched or you are unable to accept the terms of service due to the window displaying incorrectly install gdiplus through winetricks gdiplus
