Running instructions

Getting this game to run in wine requires a fair bit of tweaking. However, it works and runs well. Use a clean wine prefix when installing.
1) Buy and download the game from Direct2Drive.
2) winetricks xact vcrun2005sp1 vcrun2008
3) Download 'dx9 march 2009 redist' and install in separate wine prefix. You will extract two DLLs from this installation and copy them to your regular wine prefix (system32). The libraries may be available as direct download elsewhere, so I've included the md5sums for your convenience:
4) Register XAudio by running:
regsvr32 "c:\windows\system32\XAudio2_4.dll"
5) The game can now be installed and started. If sound doesn't work, continue to step 6.
6) Set OS to Windows 2000 in winecfg and use ALSA with samplerate 44100. Then create the register key MaxShadowSize = -1 in HKCU\Software\Wine\DirectSound.
