What works
Installation of Omni Accounts, Firebird, Updates on either Server and/or Workstation. Note: If you are upgrading from the previous Omni Accounts version you have to upgrade the Firebird Version as well.


What does not
Workstation: Running Omni Accounts This is due to the new copyright protection from Omni Accounts.


What was not tested
Worksation: Date/Time Picker The cursor does not default to the Day in the Date Picker.


Additional Comments

The rating is a bit harsh. Brilliant program after the Wine/Linux/Omni bugs on the new version are removed.

1. BUG: 11832

This is ONLY problematic if you run both Windows clients and Wine Clients.

Wine returns a HDD serial number of 0000-0000 so it see's it as being a completely different hard drive to the one that Windows is using, and the copy protection kicks in.

There is nothing Omni can do to change the program, apart from removing the copy protection.

2. Firebird Version

7.8.55 and before shipped and ran on Firebird 1.5

7.9.56 still ships with Firebird 1.5, but is fully Firebird 2.1 compatible (it does require some copying of the Firebird client DLL's though)

7.10.57 now ships with Firebird 2.1, and is NOT compatible with Firebird 1.5 any more, as Firebird 2 native functions have now been used in place of the FreeUDFLib ones. (FreeUDFLib is no longer a requirement, making *manual* Firebird installation - that was required for Linux - a lot easier)
