ATI ISSUES (reported by Callum Fare)

Here's a guide on fixing any Radeon-driver related crashes with Worms Reloaded. This method will execute Worms with the r300g driver, instead of the default r300 driver. This method will (probably) not work for people with a HD2xxx or newer graphics card.

1) Download the r300g libraries: www.mediafire.com/?3mz6711gu36u08j
And extract the archive into your home folder (so you end up with /home/yourname/r300g/)
2) Make a new document on your desktop, or wherever. This will be your shortcut to open Worms. Call the document "LaunchWorms.sh"
3) Paste the script found here into the document: pastebin.com/raw.php?i=dgq9mmrk 4) If you're running 64-bit, then swap /32 with /64 in the driver path.
5) If Steam isn't installed in the default path, edit the wine command appropriately.
6) Save the script, then right click it, go to Properties > Permissions and tick 'Allow executing file as a program'.
7) Double click your shortcut and hit Run. 8) Enjoy playing Worms!

For best results, as always make sure Compiz is off, and use the 2 winetricks fixes also posted.

Worms Reloaded does't run
by Jeremy Gove on Friday November 12th 2010, 19:23
I've played quite a few Steam games in Linux, including IL2, Half-Life I and II... but one game that I can't make work is Works Reloaded. The first time I try to run it, my screen turns black. Every time, this is the output:

My computer/setup information: Gentoo AMD64, Openbox, ASUSG60JX.

I doubt it has anything to do with win64 because I deleted ~/.wine and reinstalled WINE without that option, to no avail. Can anyone help?

Worms Reloaded Sound Issue
by Magnus on Friday October 29th 2010, 9:05
I'm having trouble fixing the sound and it seems I'm not alone on this issue. Everything works except the sound and mouse. The mouse problem have I read a little about on the comments, so I'm going to check that out. In other words, this is about the sound issue. The grafics works fine, thanks to nVidias latest Driver release.

I've installed the 2 fixes, which the HOWTO recommends, with winetricks. Tried changing in wineconf between win7 and winxp. Tried to change audio setting like ALSA and OSS. I've also tried to set the audio hardware for emulation. Still the same result - no sound what so ever, not even any stuttering sound like in wow now days (4.0.1) or squicky sound like in sc2.

I really don't know what to try next. I've a few ideas, but those isn't related for this kind of sound problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next??

Wine conf. I use is usually the standard configure from release - it usually works... with some small winetricks installations ofc.

Info on my system: Computer - Clevo M860TU. OS - Ubuntu 10.10. Wine - the latest 1.35.

I tried the radeon fix suggested here but, the game wont even start

Any suggestions how to get it working?

Mouse issues
by Josh on Friday September 10th 2010, 0:37
Is anybody else having trouble with their mouse reaching the edge of the screen before the in-game cursor does? I see this in emulated desktop and full screen modes on two different computers.

The only way to work around it seems to be to pause the game or bring up the weapon selection menu and re-centre the cursor there before returning to the game (or to escape the virtual desktop and come in from the other side of the window).

Crash due to Radeon drivers
by Callum Fare on Saturday September 4th 2010, 16:04
I'm trying Worms out on Wine 1.3 with Ubuntu 10.10 and things aren't really working.

After running the recommended Winetricks, Worms loads up nicely, and I'm greeted by the "Click to continue" splash screen, which works very well, runs at a full 60fps I'd say.

I created a team, and started a quick play and it worked amazingly well, same performance as I got in Windows. However, after that I tried to play the campaign and it crashed with the following error in a message box:
Internal error: invalid parameters specified.
And the follow debug output:
m files\steam\steamapps\common\worms reloaded\WormsReloaded.exe: radeon_texture.c:687: radeon_store_teximage: Assertion `dstRowStride' failed.
wine: Assertion failed at address 0x68000832 (thread 0021), starting debugger...
Can't attach process 000d: error 5

The only other mention of such an error though is something unrelated (and patched) in OpenJDK.

After this, no matter how many times I try and play, virtual desktop or not, it crashes like this, even on Quick Game again. Same deal with the map editor. BUT, if I delete my saved profile data, and then recreate a profile I can still play that one Quick Game before the error comes back.

The game appears to generate a mini-dump as well, so I may see if Team17 can help diagnose where the problem might be coming from on Monday, when they're in office.

The error doesn't come from the 3D backgrounds, since they render fine in the menu, as do the character models in the team setup screen. The crash occuring in the map editor too suggests issues rendering the landscape itself (although the Hell one works during that solitary Quick Game). Could it be to do with the size of landscape? If anybody knows what the problem might be, then please reply!

Windowed mode?
by Josh on Saturday September 4th 2010, 6:48
So... anybody know whether there's a way to get this to run in a window? If not, I guess I'll have to use a virtual desktop (full screen doesn't play nice with dual head) ;_;

Program starts, but game doesn't
by Guillermo on Monday August 30th 2010, 12:20
The game starts correctly for me and sound is working, but when I try to start a new game (of any kind) I get this:

aded.exe: radeon_texture.c:687: radeon_store_teximage: Assertion `dstRowStride' failed.

And wine crashes. I googled it and it seems to happen in several (non wine related) apps, but maybe someone knows a workaround or maybe wine is doing something wrong when handling 3D acceleration. I have changed graphical settings both in winecfg and Worms Reloaded but it doesn't help.

Any ideas?

No input at splash screen
by John Stahara on Sunday August 29th 2010, 14:09
(Wine 1.3.0) Game starts up fine, sound works. However, the "Press any key to start" screen seems to ignore all input. Console output is a (ridiculously huge) continuous stream of which the following is a representative sample:

Get sound working with winetricks
by Adys on Friday August 27th 2010, 22:48
"winetricks xact" is enough to get sound working. It also fixes a startup crash (doesn't happen all the time)
